Flight Log Instructions

Welcome. This log page is intended for aviators, especially pilots of foot launched aircraft, to share their adventures with others of like mind. I've made this page available as my contribution to the hang gliding community of the Pacific Northwest and an exercise for me in the fine art of dynamically generated, interactive web pages. I hope you like it and that many will use it.

All fields in the form are required (easier for me that way). HTML tags are not allowed in any of the flight log fields except the Remarks field, and there only HREF tags are allowed. Any other HTML tags will generate an error.

If you want to include a picture with your entry, you can do so by checking the box to upload a picture when you log your flight. The photo must be a .JPG image file and will be displayed on the log page as a clickable thumbnail next to your remarks. Picture file size is limited to 300K. If you upload a larger file, it will simply be truncated (all bytes over 300K will be tossed out) and the partial file will show up in the log (and be really ugly). Crop and resize as necessary to make it look good in that file size. Thumbnail width is user-defined but the thumbnail will retain the original's aspect ratio.

You can embed hyper links to other pages in your remarks. Use the code below to create the hyper link. Your remarks go in place of the red text, the filename in place of the green, and the blue is the text that will show up as a hyper link.

Text comments go here. You can see my picture by clicking

If your browser is set up to accept cookies, an ID number will be assigned and stored as a cookie the first time you view the log. With that cookie set, you will be allowed to edit or delete any flights you enter. If you get a new computer or have to reinstall or otherwise loose your cookies, let me know and I'll send you a URL that will fix it for you. It can also be used to enable editing on a different computer, like at home and work. You must log at least one flight before I can find your cookie for you.

Let me know if you have any problems or questions.
